Our Mission
The mission of the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning is to promote excellence in teaching, to assist in the professional development of Saint Francis University faculty and staff, and to support the utilization of appropriate technology to enhance teaching and learning throughout the University.
About the Center
The CETL is located on the first floor of the Library and Learning Commons and consists of the office suite (110) and training facilities (111). The CETL offers faculty and staff development through workshops, training, online programs, special events, presentations, and individualized consulting. The CETL administers and provides support for the learning management system. The Center establishes courses in the LMS for faculty and also provides training and assistance in developing courses and materials according to best design practice.
The CETL offers training and workshops for every experience level. From beginner Microsoft Word or PowerPoint training to advanced virtual classroom tutorials, the CETL aims to meet the needs of both faculty and staff. The center encourages the application of current and emerging technologies, but also provides training and support for low tech solutions, such as creating rubrics and course mapping.
